My first venture into ultra-marathon was in the late ’90s where I was part of a Commando team participating in the Hong Kong Oxfam Trailwalker. After a long hiatus, I was back at it in 2012 participating in the “The Most Beautiful Thing” in Sabah.
Since then, I have participated in numerous adventures all around the world.
For me each ultra is an adventure where I take months to prepare, plan, and tweak my nutrition.
I am attracted to this for four reasons:
- It offers me solitude that challenges my mind and physical strength;
- Meeting and making wonderful friends;
- The ability to share my experiences and
- Traveling to places I never been before.
My personal philosophy: I will pass on but not in a well persevered state but rather having had it hammered.
